Katie Stone

For nearly a decade, Katie Stone has been the executive producer of The Children's Hour.  Her goal with The Children's Hour is to bring informative and entertaining radio programming to the KUNM listeners, showcasing local kids and kid-friendly organizations, while involving kids in all aspects of the production. She works with a crew of a dozen kids who engineer the show, write scripts and reviews, assist with choosing music, and help with the live broadcast.  

Katie started working in radio when she was 15 years old at WDGC in Downers Grove, IL.  Outside of KUNM, Katie can be found advocating for families who have kids with disabilities, and working at Stone Design, a software company she co-owns with her husband Andrew.  She is the step mother of two daughters who are now grown up, and the mom of Eli and Emma who help produce the radio show.  Katie and her family live in a handmade house on a solar powered organic farm in Albuquerque raising chickens, llamas, fruit, vegetables, alfalfa and children.
