Albuquerque, NM – After being injured in a car accident in the 1990's, Monna Patton opened the first convenience store in her hometown of Kyle, South Dakota. For many in this traditional Lakota community, it was their first exposure to some of the modern conveniences that many of us take for granted. Here, Monna talks with her son, George Patton, about early days at the store, and her inspiration for Tribal Council.
